Our sound · Our valley

A classic sound.
Fresh mountain air.

A British-style brass band made of area professionals, educators, and serious players—rooted in Idaho and built to be heard.

What is BBTV?

One lush,
unmistakable
voice.

The Brass Band of the Treasure Valley is Idaho’s premier British brass banding ensemble. Composed of area professionals and led by Drs. Bill Waterman and Derek Ganong, BBTV strives to provide the highest level of musicianship, educational support, and entertainment.

The traditional British brass palette uses cornets, flugelhorn, tenor horns, baritones, euphoniums, trombones, tubas, and percussion. Those closely related colors blend into a warm, focused timbre that can glow, whisper, thunder, and properly rattle the room.

BBTV presents traditional concerts, shared concerts, professional-convention features, and concerts in the park.

Come closer.

How BBTV connects
with our valley.

Come as you are.

Serious music, no velvet rope.

High-level performances that feel human, immediate, and wonderfully close to home. One last, great perk: Free to attend.

Listen closely.

Sound you don’t hear every day.

Cornets, tenor horns, baritones, and low brass blend into a warm, unmistakable voice.

Pass it on.

The next note starts here.

The Youth Brass Band and Youth Academy connect young musicians with working artists through rehearsal, coaching, and performance.
